Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbsMonterey Jack cheese
30 Cloves fresh garlic
4 cupPeanut oil
1 tbspItalian seasoning
3 Eggs beaten
2 cupAll-purpose flour
3 cupFrench bread crumbs
3 tbspChopped fresh parsley
1 smallJar Marinara Sauce
Procedures:
1Slice cheese into 30 slices about ?inch thick.
2Peel garlic and slice each clove lengthwise into about 6 ovals.
3Heat oil in deep, heavy saucepan over medium-low heat.
4Add garlic ovals and simmer 5 to 7 minutes, being careful not to burn or brown cloves.
5Remove slices as they float to the surface and are light brown in color.
6Drain on paper towel.
7Reserve oil for cheese.
8Mince garlic and mix with italian seasoning.
9Spread half the cheese slices evenly with garlic mixture.
10Press remaining cheese slices on each of make 15 bars.
11Dip flour-coated pieces into egg again, then into bread crumbs mixed with parsley.
12Be sure to cover sides.
13Reheat oil to medium-high and fry cheese in oil a few pieces at a time until lightly browned (takes about 2 minutes).
14Skim particles from oil as they accumulate.
15Drain cheese on paper towels and keep warm until all are fried.
16Serve with toothpicks and marinara sauce for dipping.
