Ingredients:

| small | Herrings | | 1
| | Inch root ginger, peeled | | 1
| small | Carrot, peeled | | 1
| small | Onion, peeled | | 2
| oz | Broccoli | | 2
| oz | Caulitlower | | 1
| tbsp | Vegetable oil | | 1
| tbsp | Lemon juice | | | Salt and black pepper | | | GARNISH | | | Thin strips of lemon rind |

Procedures:
| 1 | Ask the fishmonger to bone and fillet the herrings. | | 2 | Cut the fillets into slices. | | 3 | Finely chop the ginger, cut the carrot into sticks and thinly slice the onion. | | 4 | Cut the broccoli and cauliflower into small ilorets. | | 5 | Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok. | | 6 | Stir-fiy the ginger and vegetables for about 2 minutes. | | 7 | Add the herring slices and cook for a further 3 to 4 minutes, stirring carefully so the fish stays in shape. | | 8 | Just before serving add the lemon juice and seasoning. | | 9 | Sprinkle with the lemon rind. | | 10 | Serve with noodles or rice. |
