Kielbasa & cabbage

Ingredients:
2/3 tspCooking fat (butter, oil
-or margarine) or cooking
-spray
1 largeOnion, coarsely chopped
1 medHead cabbage, shredded
2 Red delicious apples, cored
-and thinly sliced
2 canWhole small potatoes
1 tspGranular beef bouillon
2 tspFennel seed
1 lbsReduced fat kielbasa
-(Polish sausage)
1/2 cupWater
Freshly ground pepper
Procedures:
1In a large, nonstick dutch oven with a lid, melt fat over medium heat, then stir in the chopped onion.
2Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is pale yellow and soft.
3Turn down heat to low.
4Leave onion in the bottom of the pan where it will begin to brown and turn very sweet.
5Pile the shredded cabbage on top.
6Sprinkle with beef bouillon.
7Add the sliced apples, fennel seed and pepper.
8Cut the kielbasa into 6 pieces.
9Slit each piece about 1/3 through.
10Place on top of the apples.
11Add the canned potatoes and water.
12Cover.
13Turn the heat up to high until the water begins to boil, then reduce heat to simmer.
14About after 5 minutes, stir the pot until all the items are evenly mixed.
15Continue cooking until the cabbage is tender crisp and all other ingredients are hot
