Ingredients:
1/2 lbsUncooked Creamette Lasagna
1 lbsBulk italian sausage
1/2 lbsGround beef
1 cupChopped onion
2 Cloves garlic, minced
1 cup(28 ounces) tomatoes
Cut up, undrained
2 cupTomato paste
2 tspSugar
2 1/2 tspSalt, divided
1 1/2 tspDried basil, crushed
1/2 tspFennel seeds
1/4 tspPepper
15 ozRicotta cheese
1 Egg, beaten
1 tbspParsley flakes
1 cupSliced pitted ripe olives
4 cupShredded mozzarella cheese
3/4 cupGrated Parmesan cheese
Procedures:
1Prepare lasagna according to package directions; drain.
2Cook sausage, ground, beef, onion and garlic in large skillet over medium-high heat until sausage is no longer pink and onion is tender.
3Stir in tomatoes, tomatoe paste, sugar, 2 teaspoons of the salt, the basil, fennel seeds and pepper.
4Bring to a boil over high heat.
5Reduce heat to low.
6Simmer, uncovered, for about 20 minutes.
7In small bowl, blend ricotta, egg, parsley and remaining ?teaspoon of salt.
8Spoon 1 ?cups of meat sauce into 13x9 inch baking dish.
9Layer 1/3 each of the lasagna, remaining meat sauce, ricotta mixture, olives, mozzarella and parmesan cheese into dish.
10Repeat layers.
11Cover with foil.
12Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.
13Uncover.
14Bake about 20 minutes more or until heated through.
15Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
16Makes about 8 to 10 servings...
