Ingredients:

| lbs | Halibut, cut into chunks | | 1
| cup | Flour | | 1 1/2
| tsp | Garlic powder | | 1 1/2
| tsp | Curry powder | | | -- (or a bit less) | | 1
| tsp | Marjoram | | 2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 3/4
| tsp | Lemon pepper | | 2
| cup | Panko | | | --(Japanese potato flakes) | | 12
| fl oz | Flat beer (or less) |

Procedures:
| 1 | Combine flour, garlic powder, curry powder, marjoram, baking powder, and lemon pepper. | | 2 | Mix well. | | 3 | Slowly add enough flat beer to make a thick batter. | | 4 | Dip halibut in batter and then roll in panko. | | 5 | Let stand for 2 minutes. | | 6 | Deep fry in 375 °F. | | 7 | Fat until golden brown. | | 8 | Drain on absorbent paper and serve with a tartar sauce or a zesty tomato, horseradish sauce for dipping. | | 9 | Serves 3- |
