Grossmutter's pound cake

Ingredients:
1 lbsSugar
1 lbsButter
1/2 tspNutmeg
1 lbsFlour
10 ea Egg
1 xBrandy
Procedures:
1Work butter and sugar together until very creamy.
2Add eggs, one at a time, alternately with the flour.
3Each egg should be worked in for at least 5 minutes.
4Work this way for 1 hour.
5Should there be any flour left, add it to the mixture.
6Add the nutmeg and a wine glass of brandy.
7Put into a very deep pan, lined on sides and bottom with greased paper.
8Bake at 325°F on small stand in lower part of oven for 2 hours.
9If coal stove is used, watch the fire very carefully.
10The oven temperature must not rise or fall suddenly
