Moravian christmas loaf

Ingredients:
3 cupMilk
1 cupSugar
1 x*dissolved in:
6 cupFlour
1/2 lbsRaisins, chopped
1/4 lbsCitron, chopped
1 cupButter
1/2 cupYeast
1/4 cupWater, warm
1 tspSalt
1/2 lbsCurrants
1/2 cupAlmond, blanched, sliced
Procedures:
1Scald 2 cups of the milk and let cool.
2Add the dissolved yeast cake, 3 cups of flour and the salt.
3Mix well.
4Cover and set aside to rise in a warm place, over night.
5In the morning, scald the other cup of milk and add the butter and stir until melted.
6Combine with the yeast mixture and add the sugar and the balance of the flour, kneading the dough well, until it is no longer sticky.
7Use more flour if necessary.
8Combine the fruit and sprinkle with some flour and add to the dough, mixing well.
9Cover and let rise again until double in bulk.
10Shape in small loaves, place in small pans, and sprinkle with the sliced almonds.
11Let rise for 2 hours.
12Bake at 400°F for 40 minutes
