Rhubarb pudding

Ingredients:
1 xRhubarb, stewed
1 x*or:
2 eachEgg white
1 xCake, stale
1 xBread, stale
Procedures:
1Line a buttered baking dish with slices of plain stale cake or bread.
2Fill with sweetened rhubarb.
3Cover and bake at 325°F for 30 minutes.
4Make a meringue of the egg whites by beating until very stiff and adding 4 tbsp sugar.
5Remove pudding from oven and cover with the meringue.
6Return to oven to brown
