Apple almond pie

Ingredients:
1 Pie crust, single crust
3/4 cupSugar
1/4 cupCorn starch
3 Eggs
1/2 cupButter or margarine, melted
1/2 cupCorn syrup, light or dark
1/4 tspAlmond extract
2 cupApples, peeled and chopped
1 cupAlmonds, toasted and sliced
1 Apple, peeled & sliced thin
2 tbspAlmonds, toasted and sliced
Procedures:
1=------------------------------- garnish ~-------------------------------- prepare pie crust for filled one-crust pie using 9-inch pan.
2Flute edge.
3Heat oven to 375°F.
4Reserve 2 t sugar.
5In medium bowl, combine remaining sugar and corn starch.
6Add eggs, beating well to combine.
7Stir in butter, corn syrup and almond extract.
8Mix in apples and almonds.
9Pour into pie crust-lined pan.
10If desired, garnish with apple slices overlapped in a circle around edge of pie.
11Sprinkle center with almonds.
12Sprinkle reserved sugar over top.
13Bake at 375f for 50 minutes or until center of pie is set.
14Cool completely on wire rack.
15Store in refrigerator
