Macadamia nut cream pie

Ingredients:
1 1/3 cupMilk
3/4 cupSugar
Macadamia nuts *
1 dashSalt
1 tspVanilla
3 Eggs, separated
1 tbspCornstarch
1 (8-in.) baked pastry shell
Whipped cream
Procedures:
1*note: macadamia nuts should be chopped and toasted.
2Combine 1 cup milk, ?cup sugar, ?cup nuts, salt and vanilla in top of double boiler.
3Place over boiling water and scald.
4Combine remaining 1/3 cup milk, egg yolks and cornstarch and add to hot milk mixture.
5Cook, stirring, until thickened.
6Remove from heat and cool slightly.
7Beat egg whites with remaining ?cup sugar until stiff.
8Carefully fold into milk mixture and turn into pastry shell.
9When cool, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with additional chopped nuts, if desired.
10Makes 6 to 8 serving
