Golden cream filling

Ingredients:
1/2 cupSugar
3 tbspCake flour
1/4 tspSalt
1 1/2 cupMilk
2 ea Egg yolks, slighty beaten
1 tspVanilla
Procedures:
1Combine sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler.
2Add milk gradually, mixing thoroughly.
3Place over boiling water and cook 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
4Pour small amount of mixture over egg yolks, stirring vigorously; return to double boiler and cook 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly.
5Add vanilla.
6Cool.
7Makes enough filling to spread between two 9-inch layers.
