Ingredients:

| tbsp | Cake flour | | 1/4
| tsp | Salt | | 1 1/2
| cup | Milk | | | 2 ea Egg yolks, slighty beaten | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla |

Procedures:
| 1 | Combine sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler. | | 2 | Add milk gradually, mixing thoroughly. | | 3 | Place over boiling water and cook 10 minutes, stirring constantly. | | 4 | Pour small amount of mixture over egg yolks, stirring vigorously; return to double boiler and cook 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly. | | 5 | Add vanilla. | | 6 | Cool. | | 7 | Makes enough filling to spread between two 9-inch layers. | | 8 | Kate smith collection 1940 published by general foods cor |
