Miracle rolls

Ingredients:
3 packActive dry yeast *
1/2 cup-warm water, (110-115 deg)
5 cupSelf-rising flour
1/4 cupSugar
1 tspBaking soda
1 cupShortening
2 cupWarm buttermilk
-(110-115 degrees)
Procedures:
1Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside.
2In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking soda.
3Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
4Stir in yeast mixture and buttermilk; mix well.
5Turn out onto a lightly floured surface; knead lightly a few times.
6Roll to a ? thickness.
7Cut with a 2 ? biscuit cutter.
8Place on lightly greased baking sheets.
9Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
10Bake at 400 °F for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
11* = 2 ?tsp. yeast equals 1 packet or cube note: can freeze rolls in freezer bags and thaw as needed.
