Apple-raisin crisp

Ingredients:
1/2 cupRaisins
1/2 cupRolled oats
1/2 cupBrown sugar
1/4 cupAll-purpose flour
1/2 tspCinnamon
1/4 cupShortening
1/2 cupPecans, chopped
6 medApples, peeled & cored
2 tbspSugar
Procedures:
1In a small mixing bowl pour enough boiling water over the raisins to cover them.
2Let stand for 5 minutes, then drain raisins.
3For topping, in a medium mixing bowl stir together rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
4Using a pastry blender, cut in margarine of butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
5Stir in chopped pecans.
6Set topping aside.
7For filling, in large mixing bowl combine drained raisins, sliced apples, and sugar, then gently toss till combined.
8Transfer the filling to an ungreased 9" x 9" x 2" baking pan.
9Sprinkle the topping on the filling.
10Bake in a 375f oven for 30 to 35 minutes or till the apples are tender and topping is golden.
11Serve warm.
