Ingredients:

| cup | Pink lentils | | 3/4
| tsp | Turmeric | | 2
| tsp | Salt | | 5
| tbsp | Ghee | | 6
| large | Garlic cloves |

Procedures:
| 1 | Wash lentils. | | 2 | Place in a deep pot with the turmeric & 5 cups of water. | | 3 | Bring to a bol, stirring often. | | 4 | Reduce heat to medium-low & simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. | | 5 | Turn off heat & beat lentils with a wire whisk to smooth the puree. | | 6 | Stir in the salt. | | 7 | When ready to serve, simemr the puree till pi[ping hot. | | 8 | Heat the ghee in a skillet. | | 9 | When hot, add garlic slices & fry till they start to turn brown. | | 10 | Pour this over the lentil puree. | | 11 | Stir to mix & serve. | | 12 | Julie sahni, "classic indian cooking |
