Ingredients:
4 cupCooked chick peas
1 cupChick pea stock
1/4 cupLight vegetable oil
2 cupFinely chopped onions
2 tspChopped garlic
2 tbspShredded ginger
2 tspGround coriander
1/3 tspGround cardamom
1 1/2 tspLemon juice
1/4 tspRed pepper
1/4 tspBlack pepper
1 medTomato, chopped
1 tspSalt
Procedures:
1Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2Add onions & fry for 5 minutes.
3Add garlic & ginger & fry for 2 minutes.
4Add all the spices plus the lemon juice.
5Mix well & fry for 2 minutes.
6Add tomatoes & cook for another 5 minutes.
7Add the stock, salt & another ?cup of water.
8Cover & simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
9Add chick peas & cook, covered, for another 10 minutes.
10Serve garnished with sliced onion & green chilies.
11Serve with any puffy bread.
