Ingredients:

| med | Onion, peeled, halved | | | -lengthwise, sliced | | | -lengthwise into paper-thin | | | -slivers | | 1
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| lbs | Okra | | 1
| tbsp | Cumin, ground | | 1/4
| tsp | Pepper, black |

Procedures:
| 1 | Wash okra, scrape skin lightly to remove any surface fuzz. | | 2 | Pat dry with paper towels. | | 3 | In skillet, heat ghee over moderate heat. | | 4 | Add onion and salt, stir 7-8 minutes until golden brown. | | 5 | Watch for any sign of buring. | | 6 | Add okra, cumin and pepper. | | 7 | Continue to fry, lifting and turning vegetables constantly, for 25 minutes until okra is tender and most of the liquid has evaporated. | | 8 | Serve at once from a heated bowl |
