Grandfather soup

Ingredients:
2 cupWater
2 tspSalt
1/4 cupMilk, or Half & Half
3 tbspButter
2 medPotato
1 Onion
1 Carrot
1/2 cupFlour
Procedures:
1Cube the potatoes ? after peeling them.
2Julienne the carrot, and chop the onion.
3Bring the water to a slow boil and add the potatoes & carrot, salt, and cook for 6 minutes.
4Mix the flour, 1 tablespoon of butter, and enough of the butter to make a stiff dough.
5Pinch off pieces of the dough and roll into ? ball and drop into the slow boiling soup.
6Saute the onion in the remaining butter until they start to brown.
7Add the milk & onions to the soup and cook for 5 more minutes.
