Norwegian rice pudding

Ingredients:
1 cupWater
1/2 cupLong-grain rice
1/2 tspSalt
4 cupMilk
1/4 cupButter
2 Eggs
1/2 cupSugar
1 tspVanilla
1/2 cupRaisins (Golden)
Nutmeg
Procedures:
1Bring water, rice and salt to a boil and cook 7 minutes.
2Add milk and butter; bring to a boil.
3Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 to 1 ?hours.
4Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla and add to rice mixture.
5Remove from heat and add raisins.
6Turn into 13 x 9 pan and sprinkle with nutmeg.
7Cover with plastic wrap and chill.
8May also be served warm.
