Ingredients:

| tbsp | Butter | | 1
| | Onion, small, chopped | | 2
| cup | Rice, long grain | | 2
| cup | Chicken broth or bouillon | | 1 3/4
| cup | Water | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1/2
| tsp | Oregano or thyme | | 1/4
| tsp | Pepper |

Procedures:
| 1 | Place rice into a strainer and hold under cold running water. | | 2 | Rinse rice until water runs clear. | | 3 | Place butter and onion into inner pan. | | 4 | Cook onion until soft (about 3 to 5 minutes). | | 5 | Pour in rice and cook about 5 minutes longer, stirring often. | | 6 | Add remaining ingredients. | | 7 | Cover and cook until chime rings. | | 8 | Allow pilaf to stand 10 minutes or warm before serving. | | 9 | Time: 50 minutes. | | 10 | Serves 6 |
