Ingredients:

| cup | Sugar | | 4
| | Eggs, well beaten | | 1
| cup | Milk | | 2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 2
| tbsp | Shredded almonds | | 1
| tsp | Rose water | | | OR 1 tsp almond flavoring | | 1/4
| cup | Candied orange peel | | | OR ?cup chopped nuts | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 3
| cup | Cake flour |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cream butter with sugar. | | 2 | Add eggs and beat thoroughly. | | 3 | Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder and salt. | | 4 | Add alternately with milk to first mixture. | | 5 | Add flavoring and orange peel or nuts. | | 6 | Pour into well-oiled loaf pan and sprinkle with shredded almonds. | | 7 | Bake in moderate oven (375°F) about 40 minutes. | | 8 | Florence taft eaton, concord, ma. |
