Cheese vegetable chowder

Ingredients:
2 cupChopped cabbage
1 cupChopped onion
1 cupCelery slices
1 cupFrozen peas, thawed
1 cupThin carrot slices
1/2 cupButter
12 ozCream style corn
2 1/2 cupMilk
1 tbspSalt
1/8 tbspPepper
1/4 tbspThyme
2 1/2 cupSharp cheddar cheese, shredd
Procedures:
1Saute cabbage, onion, celery, peas, and carrots in butter in 3 quart sauce pan for 8 to 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring frequently.
2Add corn, milk, and seasonings; heat over low temperature 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3Add cheese, stir until melted.
4Yield: approximately 2 quarts
