Ingredients:
1/2 lbsGround beef
1 smallOnion -- chopped
1 smallGreen pepper -- chopped
1 medClove garlic -- crushed
1 tbspChili seasoning
1 can(16 oz) tomatoes -- crushed
1 tbspTomato paste
1/8 tspGround red pepper
1 pack(16 oz) frankfurters (8)
8 Frankfurter rolls
1/2 cup(2 oz.) extra sharp cheddar
Cheese, shredded
Procedures:
1In large skillet, over medium-high heat, saute beef 3 minutes, or until browned.
2Add onion, green pepper, garlic and chili seasoning; cook, stirring, 3 minutes longer.
3Stir in tomatoes and their juice, tomato paste, ground red pepper and 1 teaspoon salt; bring to boiling.
4Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.
5prepare barbecue grill.
6With knife, score frankfurter crosswise about one third through.
7Grill, 6 inches from heat and turning occasionally, 5 minutes.
8Place rolls or grill to toast lightly.
9place frankfurters in rolls.
10Spoon some chili onto each frankfurter; sprinkle each with cheese.
11If desired, serve with potato chips.
12Makes 4 servings.
