French toasted tuna sandwiches

Ingredients:
9 1/4 ozCanned tuna
1/4 cupCelery, finely chopped
1/4 cupOnion, finely chopped
1/4 cupSweet pickle relish
1/4 cupSalad dressing (mayonnaise)
12 sliceBread, dry
2 Eggs, beaten
1/3 cupMilk
1/2 tspVanilla
2 tbspOil or fat (approximately)
Procedures:
1Drain and flake tuna.
2Mix with celery, onion, relish, and salad dressing.
3Spread tuna mixture on 6 slices of bread; top with remaining slices.
4Mix eggs, milk, and vanilla.
5Dip sandwiches into egg mixture to coat each side.
6Brown in fat on a hot griddle or in a frypan, about 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
