Ingredients:

| | Onion, chopped | | 3
| | - 4 green bell pepper, diced | | 1
| can | Or 2 cups fresh mushrooms | | | - optional | | 2
| | Jar Italian-style cooking | | | - sauce (16 oz) | | 3
| | - 4 loaves Italian style | | | - bread | | | Mozzarella cheese, shredded | | | Paprika |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cut sausage into 1-inch pieces and halve each piece lengthwise. | | 2 | Brown susage well; remove to heavy large saucepan. | | 3 | : in same skillet, saute bell peppers, onion and mushrooms. | | 4 | With slotted spoon, transfer into pot with meat, allowing excess fat to drain away. | | 5 | Stir in sauce and simmer all about 45 minutes, on low heat, stirring occasionally. | | 6 | : spoon onto split italian bread. | | 7 | Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. | | 8 | Place under broiler until cheese is melted. | | 9 | Makes 6 sandwiches |
