Ingredients:

| large | Lettuce leaves | | 3
| lbs | Green peas, shelled | | 3/4
| tsp | Sugar | | 3/4
| tsp | Salt | | 1/8
| tsp | Pepper | | 1 1/2
| tsp | Finely chopped fresh mint or | | 1/4
| tsp | Dried mint leaves | | 3
| tbsp | Butter or margarine |

Procedures:
| 1 | Wash lettuce leaves and line a deep, 1 ?quart, heat- resistant, non-metallic casserole with half of the moist lettuce leaves. | | 2 | Top with peas. | | 3 | Sprinkle peas with sugar, salt, pepper, and mint and dot with butter. | | 4 | Cover peas with remaining lettuce leaves. | | 5 | Heat, covered tightly, in microwave oven 9 minutes or until peas are tender. | | 6 | Carefully tilt cover to allow steam to escape. | | 7 | Then remove cover. | | 8 | Remove lettuce leaves and toss peas well before serving. | | 9 | Variations: ?teaspoon dried chervil or savory may be substituted for dried mint leaves |
