Mint iced brownies

Ingredients:
BROWNIE LAYER
1/2 cupButter or margarine
1 cupSugar
2 Eggs
1 tspVanilla
2 1-oz. Squares unsweetened
Chocolate
1/2 cupFinely chopped pecans
1/2 cupFlour, sifted
MINT LAYER
4 tbspButter or margarine
1 1/2 cupPowdered sugar
3 tbspEvaporated milk
1 tspPeppermint flavoring
1 smallDrop green coloring
CHOCOLATE ICING
4 ozSemisweet chocolate
1 tbspButter or margarine
Procedures:
1Brownie layer: cream soft butter with sugar.
2Add eggs one at a time and mix until creamy.
3Stir in vanilla and nuts.
4Gradually stir in flour; being careful not to overmix.
5In microwave, melt chocolate 2-3 minutes in small glass measuring cup, stirring after 1 ?minutes.
6Stir chocolate into batter evenly.
7Pour batter into greased 8-inch square casserole.
8Spread evenly.
9Cook 7-8 minutes on high, rotating after 3 minutes.
10Allow to cool.
11Mint layer: cream butter and sugar.
12Add milk and blend until creamy.
13Add flavoring and enough color to be light green.
14Carefully spread over cooled brownies, evenly.
15Allow mint layer to "firm up" before adding chocolate layer.
16Chocolate layer: melt in glass measure cup for 2-3 minutes.
17Stir after 1 minute.
18Allow to cool and spread over firm mint layer.
19Spread carefully so mint and brownie layers are not disturbed.
20Allow to stand several hours.
21Cut into squares to serve.
22I usually bake a 9 x 13 pan of brownies from a mix! double the mint and chocolate icing recipes.
