| 1 | Brownie layer: cream soft butter with sugar. |
| 2 | Add eggs one at a time and mix until creamy. |
| 3 | Stir in vanilla and nuts. |
| 4 | Gradually stir in flour; being careful not to overmix. |
| 5 | In microwave, melt chocolate 2-3 minutes in small glass measuring cup, stirring after 1 ?minutes. |
| 6 | Stir chocolate into batter evenly. |
| 7 | Pour batter into greased 8-inch square casserole. |
| 8 | Spread evenly. |
| 9 | Cook 7-8 minutes on high, rotating after 3 minutes. |
| 10 | Allow to cool. |
| 11 | Mint layer: cream butter and sugar. |
| 12 | Add milk and blend until creamy. |
| 13 | Add flavoring and enough color to be light green. |
| 14 | Carefully spread over cooled brownies, evenly. |
| 15 | Allow mint layer to "firm up" before adding chocolate layer. |
| 16 | Chocolate layer: melt in glass measure cup for 2-3 minutes. |
| 17 | Stir after 1 minute. |
| 18 | Allow to cool and spread over firm mint layer. |
| 19 | Spread carefully so mint and brownie layers are not disturbed. |
| 20 | Allow to stand several hours. |
| 21 | Cut into squares to serve. |
