Ingredients:
Pastry for 9"pie (lard is tr
1 lbsPork, lean ground
1 Onion, medium, chopped
-Salt & pepper
1/2 tspSavory
Cloves, ground
1/4 cup-Water, boiling
Procedures:
1Mix meat, onion, spices in a saucepan.
2Add boiling water.
3Simmer, uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4Skim off any fat.
5Preheat oven to 375°F.
6Roll out half of the pastry and line 9" pie plate.
7Place filling in pie plate and cover with the remaining pastry.
8Prick with a fork.
9Bake at 375f for 30 minutes or till golden.
10Serve piping hot topped with homemade ketchup or chili sauce.
11Serves 4-6 traditionally this is eaten hot after midnight mass on christmas eve.
