Ingredients:
1 lbsGround beef
1 1/2 cupCoarsely chopped cabbage
1/2 cupSliced celery
2 medOnions, thinly sliced
1 cupWater
2 tspChili powder
3/4 tspSalt
1/4 tspPepper
15 ozCan kidney beans, drained
16 ozCan stewed tomatoes
Undrained
1 Recipe Cheese Dumplings
(See recipe)
Procedures:
1Cook ground beef in dutch oven, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain.
2Stir in cabbage, celery and onions.
3Cook stirring occasionally, until vegetables are light brown.
4Stir in remaining ingredients.
5Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
6While beef mixture is simmering, prepare cheese dumplings (see recipe).
7Drop dumpling dough by 10 to 12 spoonfuls onto hot beef mixture (do not drop directly into liquid).
8Cook uncovered 10 minutes.
9Cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
