Ingredients:
| | ALMOND SHELL | | 1/4
| cup | Finely chopped almonds | | 1 1/4
| cup | Flour, sifted | | 1/2
| cup | Sugar | | 1
| dash | Salt | | 1/2
| cup | Butter, cut into ? cubes | | 1
| | Egg | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | | LEMON CURD | | 10
| | Egg yolks | | 3/4
| cup | Sugar (or more) | | 3/4
| cup | Lemon juice | | 1/2
| cup | Butter | | | Sweetened whipped cream | | | Fresh fruit |

Procedures:
| 1 | Mix almonds, flour, ?cup sugar and salt in bowl. | | 2 | Rub butter pieces, bit by bit, into flour. | | 3 | Stir in egg and vanilla to form ball. | | 4 | Chill. | | 5 | Roll out onto 12-inch tart pan with removable bottom. | | 6 | Weight down with beans placed on waxed paper. | | 7 | Bake at 350f until golden, about 20 minutes. | | 8 | Cool. | | 9 | to make filling, mix egg yolks, ?to 1 cup sugar and lemon juice in top of double boiler. | | 10 | Cook, stirring constantly over simmering water, until mixture coats back of metal spoon. | | 11 | Do not allow to boil. | | 12 | Remove from heat and whisk in ?cup butter, bit by bit, until melted and smooth. | | 13 | pour lemon curd into cooled tart shell. | | 14 | Chill until set. | | 15 | Remove sides of pan. | | 16 | Garnish with whipped cream and fruit. | | 17 | Makes 1 (12-inch) tart |
