Ingredients:
2 lbsChuck cubed, or chili grind
8 ozTomato sauce
14 ozBeef broth
4 medSerranos, optional
1 tspPaprika
1 tspCayenne pepper
2 tbspOnion powder
1 tbspCumin
1 tbspGarlic powder
1 tspWhite pepper
1 packSazon
5 tbspChili powder
Procedures:
1Coat a 4-quart pot with cooking oil and sear meat.
2Add 16 oz water, tomato sauce and beef broth.
3Remove stems from serranos and make small slit with knife and add.
4In a separate container, blend the paprika, cayenne, onion powder,cumin,garlic powder,white pepper,sazon and chili powder.
5Add half of the spice mixture to the chili pot.
6Simmer chili, covered, 1 ?to 2 hours.
7Remove serranos after one hour and save.
8Add remaining spice mixture.
9Cook 30 minutes or until meat is tender.
10(using chili grind meat will shorten cooking time).
11Taste,add salt and/or juice pressed from serranos as needed.
12note if chili gets too thick,add small amounts of water.
