Cherry cream layer

Ingredients:
1/2 ozButter
1 Cooking apple, peeled, cored
-sliced
12 ozRed or black cherries
-pitted and roughly chopped
2 tbspCaster Sugar, to taste
1/4 pintDouble cream
8 ozNatural fromage frais
TO DECORATE
4 Whole cherries, with stalks
Procedures:
1Melt the butter in a pan and cook the apple gently until it starts to soften.
2add cherries and cook for a further five minutes.
3stir in the sugar to taste, then set aside until cold.
4whip cream until stiff and holding its shape.
5Fold in the fromage frais until evenly combined.
6spoon alternate layers of fruit and cream into four individual stemmed glasses.
7chill in the fridge until firm (can be made well in advance).
8serve decorated with whole cherries for a stylish touch.
