Robb's raisin sauce for ham or tongue

Ingredients:
1 cupBrown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cupHot water
1 cupSeedless raisins
2 tbspButter
4 tbspCider vinegar
1 1/2 tspWorcestershire sauce
1/2 tspSalt
1/8 tspBlack pepper, freshly ground
1/4 tspGround cloves
1/8 tspMace
1 cupCurrant jelly
Procedures:
1Simmer the brown sugar and water together for 5 minutes, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
2Add all remaining ingredients, and cook until jelly dissolves.
3Simmer an additional 10 minutes.
4May be made in advance and kept refrigerated until ready for use.
5Reheat slowly until simmering.
