| 1 | Preheat oven to 32Using electric mixer, beat butter and sugar in bowl until well combined. |

| 4 | Gently knead until soft dough forms. |
| 5 | Divide dough in half. |
| 6 | Press out 1 dough piece to 9.5" round, about ? thick. |
| 7 | Roll lightly with rolling pin to smooth top. |
| 8 | Using 3" diameter cookie cutter, cut out in 8 cookies. |
| 9 | Reserve scraps. |
| 10 | Repat pressing, rolling and cutting with remaining dough piece. |
| 11 | Gather dough scraps together. |
| 12 | Press out dough scraps to form round and cut out additional cookies. |
| 13 | Arrange cookies on 2 large baking sheets. |
| 14 | Pierce each cookie several times with fork. |
| 15 | Bake until pale golden, about 12 minutes. |
| 16 | Cool slightly. |
| 17 | Transfer cookies to racks;cool completely. |
