| cup | Dry red wine | | 1
| cup | Sugar | | 1/2
| tsp | Nutmeg | | 2
| slice | Lemon (optional) |

Procedures:
| 1 | Core, peel, and quarter apples. | | 2 | Combine wine and sugar in crockpot, stir well. | | 3 | Add apple quarters. | | 4 | Stir well to coat apples with wine mixture. | | 5 | Add nutmeg and lemon slices. | | 6 | Cover and cook on low setting for 8-12 hours (high 2-3 hours). | | 7 | Transfer apples and liquid to a refrigerator container and chill well. | | 8 | Serve in sherbet glasses. | | 9 | Yield: about 3 quart |
