Apple walnut triangles

Ingredients:
2 Rome Beauty apples, peeled
- finely chopped
1/2 cupPine nuts -OR- walnuts
- light toasted, fine choped
Grated peel of 1 lemon
2 tbspSugar
1/4 tspGround nutmeg
5 Phyllo sheets, frozen, thaw
1/2 cupUnsalted butter, melted
Powdered sugar, sifted (opt)
Procedures:
1Combine apples, nuts, lemon peel, sugar and nutmeg in a medium bowl.
2Mix well to blend flavors; set aside.
3Unroll phyllo dough sheets.
4Cut dough lengthwise into 2" wide strips.
5Place on waxed paper over damp towels.
6Cover all dough strips except 2 of them.
7Brush the 2 strips with the melted butter.
8Place about 2 teaspoons of the filling in the center of each strip, about 1" from the top edge.
9Fold one corner of each strip over filling.
10Fold over again like a flag, till entire strip is folded.
11Place on buttered 10x15" pan with sides.
12Repeat with remaining filling and phyllo strips.
13Brush folded pastries, top and bottom, with melted butter.
14Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
15Cool on wire rack.
16Sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar if desired.
