Procedures:
| 1 | Combine sugar, butter, and water in a medium saucepan; cook over high heat, stirring frequently, until mixture comes to a boil. | | 2 | Remove from heat. | | 3 | Add 1 package chocolate morsels and vanilla, stirring until chocolate melts. | | 4 | Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. | | 5 | Combine flour, soda, and salt; stir dry ingredients and 1 cup pec into chocolate mixture.pour batter into a greased and floured 9-inch square pan. | | 6 | Bake at 325 °F for 30 minutes. | | 7 | Cool on wire rack. | | 8 | Cut into squares and serve plain, or sprinkle 1 package chocolate morsels over hot brownies, if desired. | | 9 | Let stand until morsels are softened; then spread evenly over brownies with a spatula. | | 10 | Sprinkle ?cup pecans on top, if desired. | | 11 | Let cool, and cut into squares. | | 12 | Yield: 3 dozen |
