Ingredients:
| | Mixed fruit (strawberries | | | -cherries -- apricots | | | Peaches, raspberries, plums | | | Redcurrants, grapes or | | | -melon) | | | Sugar, equal to weight of | | | -fruit | | | Light or dark rum |

Procedures:
| 1 | Recipe by: sspahn@ wash a jar or jars and lids in hot soapy water; rinse. | | 2 | Use sound ripe fruit, just a few pieces of each type, and wipe fruit gently. | | 3 | Do not wash, peel or pit fruit. | | 4 | Only melon should be peeled, seeded and cut in large chunks. | | 5 | Layer fruit and sugar in prepared jar. | | 6 | Stir lightly. | | 7 | Pour rum over fruit to cover. | | 8 | Seal jar tightly. | | 9 | Let mature in cool dark place 3 months. | | 10 | The rumpot can be added to as more fruit becomes available. | | 11 | Always add equivalent sugar and more rum to cover fruit. | | 12 | Serve with cream or yogurt, add to fresh fruit salad, or use of fill hollowed out melon or tart shells |
