Shrimp fried with batter

Ingredients:
12 eachShrimp
1 cupGarlic
1/2 tspSalt
1 tbspGinger root
1 cupFlour
4 1/2 tspBaking soda
2 tbspCornstarch
6 tbspOil
1 cupWater , or beer ( approx.)
1 xOil, for deep frying
1 xGren onion, cut lengthwise
Procedures:
1Shell shrimp but leave the tail segment of the shell, butterfly shrimp and devein.
2Crush garlic with salt to a >>paste and rub into shrimp, sprinkle with a little ginger root blend flour, baking powder, cornstacrh; add oil gradually while stirring.
3Stir until mixture forms a ball.
4Add water, a little at a time, while srirring until the mixture has the consistancy of pancake batter.
5Heat oil, dip each shrimp into the batter and fry, two or three at a time until golden brown.
6Drain before >>serving.
7Garnish with scallions strips this serves about 3 if all you want is the batter, still give this one a try.
