Cherry cheese bars

Ingredients:
CRUST
1 cupWalnut pieces, divided
1 1/4 cupAll-purpose flour
1/2 cupFirmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cupButter flavor Crisco
1/2 cupFlake coconut
FILLING
2 pack8 oz cream cheese, softened
2/3 cupGranulated sugar
2 Eggs
2 tspVanilla
1 can(21 oz.) cherry pie filling
Procedures:
1Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2Grease a 13x9x2-inch pan with butter flavor crisco.
3Set aside.
4Chop ?cup nuts coursely for topping.
5Set aside.
6Chop remaining ?cup nuts, finely.
7For crust, combine flour and brown sugar.
8Cut in butter flavor crisco until fine crumbs form.
9Add ?cup finely chopped nuts and coconut.
10Mix well.
11Remove ?cup.
12Set aside.
13Press remaining crumbs in bottom of pan.
14Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes, until edges are lighty browned.
15For filling, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla in small bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until smooth.
16Spread over hot baked crust.
17Return to oven.
18Bake 15 minutes longer.
19Spread cherry pie filling over cheese layer.
20Combine reserved coursely chopped nuts and reserved crumbs.
21Sprinkle evenly over cherries.
22Return to oven.
23Bake 15 minutes longer.
24Cool.
25Refergerate sever hours.
26Cut into bars, about 2 x 1 ?inchs.
