Ingredients:

| tbsp | Oilve oil | | 1
| | Onion, finely chopped | | 3
| | Garlic cloves, finely chopped | | 1
| lbs | Ground beef, lean | | 1
| tbsp | Curry powder | | 1
| tsp | -salt | | 1/2
| tsp | -freshly ground black pepper | | 1/2
| cup | Bread crumbs, dry | | 1/2
| cup | Chicken stock , or water | | 2
| | Green onions, finely chopped | | | PASTRY | | 2
| cup | Flour, all purpose | | 1/2
| tsp | Tumeric | | 1/4
| tsp | -salt | | 2/3
| cup | Shortening or Butter, cold | | | -diced | | 1/4
| cup | -ice water or more if | | | -necessary | | 1
| | Egg, lightly beaten |

Procedures:
| 1 | Heat oil in large heavy skillet. | | 2 | Add onions and garlic. | | 3 | Cook, stirring till onion wilts. | | 4 | Add ground meat. | | 5 | Cook, stirring until meat is browned and combined with onions. | | 6 | Sprinkle with curry, salt and pepper. | | 7 | Cook about 5 minutes. | | 8 | Stir in breadcrumbs and stock or water. | | 9 | Cook, stirring often, about 20 minutes. | | 10 | Mixture should be thick but not dry. | | 11 | Stirin green onions. | | 12 | Make pastry by combining flour with tumeric and salt. | | 13 | Cut in butter or shortening until in tiny bites. | | 14 | Add water; gather into a ball. | | 15 | Roll out to about ? thivkness and cut into 4" circles. | | 16 | Gather remaining dough together and lightly cut out again. | | 17 | Place about 1 tbsp filling on each circle. | | 18 | Brush edges with lightly beaten egg, fold over and seal. | | 19 | Preheat oven to 400°F. | | 20 | Place patties on cookie sheets lined with aluminium foil. | | 21 | Brush lightly with remaining lightly beaten egg. | | 22 | Bake 25 to 30 till browned. | | 23 | Makes: approx 30 patties these can be made ahead and frozen. |
