Sauteed kohlrabi

Ingredients:
2 Good sized kohlrabi, peeled
-- trimmed of leaves
1 tspSalt
1 medOnion, peeled and diced
4 tbspSweet butter
1 tbspChopped fresh marjoram or
1 tbspChopped fresh basil
Procedures:
1Grate the kohlrabi in a food processor or by hand.
2Sprinkle with salt and allow to sit in a colander for 30 minutes.
3Squeeze water out.
4melt butter in a saute pan.
5Brown onions and stir in kohlrabi.
6Turn heat to low, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
7Uncover and turn up the heat to medium.
8Cook another 2 minutes.
9Add fresh herbs.
10ogden writes: "we enjoy kohlrabi sliced thin and eaten raw, however, on the cooler nights this sauteed dish is a nice accompaniment to a main dish."
