Ingredients:

| | Bacon slices | | 2
| cup | French Bread, cubed | | 16
| | Plum Tomatoes, cubed | | | Or | | 56
| oz | Whole canned tomatoes | | 2
| | Garlic cloves | | 2
| tbsp | Sugar | | | Salt and pepper, to taste | | 1/2
| cup | Fresh basil | | 1/2
| cup | Parmesan Cheese |

Procedures:
| 1 | Preheat oven to 350°F. | | 2 | Cook chopped bacon until almost done over medium heat. | | 3 | Add bread cubes, cut into ? cubes and stir to coat evenly with the fat. | | 4 | Saute until lightly browned all over, 5 to 7 minutes. | | 5 | Add the tomatoes, garlic and sugar to the pan. | | 6 | Cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. | | 7 | Season with salt and pepper. | | 8 | Stir in chopped basil and remove from heat. | | 9 | Transfer tomato mixture to greased shallow 1 ?quart casserole. | | 10 | Sprinkle cheese over top and bake uncovered for about 30 minutes. |
