Ingredients:

| med | Sized potatoes, peeled and | | | -cut into 2x?inch strips | | | -2 tbsp butter | | 2
| med | Size onions, thinly sliced | | 1
| | 3-?oz can Swedish anchovy | | | -fillets | | 1
| dash | Of pepper | | 2
| tbsp | Bread crumbs | | 3
| tbsp | Butter | | 3/4
| cup | Cream or half and half |

Procedures:
| 1 | Preheat oven to 400°F. | | 2 | Keep potato strips incold water to prevent discoloration. | | 3 | Melt 2 tbsp butter in skillet and add onions; cook until soft but not brown, about 5 minutes. | | 4 | Pat potatoes dry. | | 5 | Arange layers of potatoe, onion and anchovies in a greased 1 ?to 2 quart baking dish. | | 6 | Begin and end with potatoes. | | 7 | Dot casserole with butter and sprinkle with pepper and bread crumbs. | | 8 | Pour cream around the casserole. | | 9 | Bake in the center of the oven until the potatoes are tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 45-60 minutes. | | 10 | Serves 4-6. |
