Old fashion corned beef and cabbage

Ingredients:
5 lbsCorned-Beef Brisket
1 Clove Garlic
2 Whole Cloves
10 Whole Black Peppers
2 Bay Leaves
8 medCarrots, Pared
8 medPotatoes, Pared
8 medYellow Onions, Peeled
1 medCabbage, Cut In Wedges
2 tbspButter
Chopped Parsley
Procedures:
1Wipe corned beef with damp paper towels.
2Place in large kettle, cover with water.
3Add garlic, cloves, black peppercorns, and bay leaves.
4Bring to boiling.
5Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes.
6Skim surface.
7Cover kettle; simmer 3 to 4 hours, or untill corned beef is fork-tender.
8Add carrots, potatoes, and onions during last 25 minutes.
9Add cabbage wedges during last 15 minutes.
10Cook vegetables just till tender.
11Slice across the grain.
12Arrange slices on platter with cabbage.
13Brush potatoes with butter, sprinkle with chopped parsley.
14Serve along with rest of vegetables and "mustard sauce".
