Ingredients:
2 cupDried yellow split peas
8 cupVegetable stock
2 medPotatoes
2 largeCarrots
3 Celery stalks
1 largeOnion
1 Turnip, peeled
2 Parsnips, peeled
3 tspMustard powder
1 dashAllspice
1 tspCumin
1 tspMarjoram
1 tspThyme
2 tspSalt
Freshly ground pepper
Croutons
Procedures:
1Rinse split peas, bring to a boil in the stock.
2Coarsely chop the vegetables & add to the water as it comes to a boil.
3Lower heat & simmer for about 1 ?hours.
4Puree soup in batches until it is quite smooth.
5Add spices & herbs & season with salt & pepper.
6Reheat gently.
