Old fashioned applesauce cake

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cupCake Flour, Sifted
1 1/2 tspBaking Soda
1/4 tspBaking Powder
1 tspSalt
1 tspGround Cinnamon
1/2 tspGround Nutmeg
1/2 tspGround Cloves
1/2 tspGround Allspice
1/2 cupVegetable Shortening
1 3/4 cupBrown Sugar, Packed
2 largeEggs
1 1/2 cupApplesauce
1/2 cupWater
1 cupRaisins
1 cupWalnuts, Chopped
Confectioners' Sugar
Procedures:
1Sift the cake flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices together into a bowl and set aside.
2Cream the shortening and brown sugar together, in a large mixing bowl, until light and fluffy, using an electric mixer set on medium speed.
3Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4Add the dry ingredients alternately with the applesauce and the water, blending well with the mixer set on low speed.
5Stir in the raisins and nuts.
6Pour the batter into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
7Bake in a preheated 350 °F.
8Oven for 45 minutes or until a cake tester or wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
9Cool, until cold to the touch, in the pan on a wire rack.
10Dust the cake with confectioners" sugar.
