Ruthee's irish lace cookies

Ingredients:
1/2 cupUnsalted butter, plus extra
4 tbspFlour, plus extra
1 cupFirmly packed brown sugar
1 tbspVanilla extract
2 tbspMilk
1 cupOld-fashioned rolled oats
Procedures:
1Recipe by: the california culinary academy preparation time: 0:30 Preheat oven to 350 °F.
2Grease and flour 2 baking sheets.
3Cream butter and sugar.
4Add vanilla; stir in flour, milk, and rolled oats.
5Drop batter by the tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets; allow room for cookies to spread to about 3 inches in diameter.
6Each baking sheet will hold about 6 cookies.
7Bake until cookies flatten and look dry (10 minutes).
8Let cookies cool for 4 to 5 minutes on baking sheets.
9Lift from baking sheet with a metal spatula and cool completely.
