| tbsp | Water | | 1
| | 1-inch piece cinnamon stick | | 2/3
| cup | Apple cider, milk or water | | 1 1/2
| oz | (1 jigger) rum | | 1
| tsp | Butter or margarine | | | Ground nutmeg |

Procedures:
| 1 | Dissolve sugar in water and apple cider in a heat-resistant, non-metallic mug or cup. | | 2 | Add cinnamon stick. | | 3 | Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 1 to 2 minutes or until it comes to a boil. | | 4 | Stir in rum. | | 5 | Top with butter and a sprinkling of ground nutmeg |
