Ingredients:
4 cupFlour, unbleached, unsifted
1 tbspBaking powder
1 tbspCinnamon
1 tbspCloves, ground
1/2 tspMace
1 tbspAllspice, ground
Black pepper, as desired
1 1/4 cupHoney
2 tbspButter, (no margarine)
2 Eggs, large
1 cupConfectioners' sugar
1 tbspVanilla
Water
Procedures:
1Sift flour, baking powder and spices together.
2Heat honey and butter until butter melts.
3Cool to lukewarm and beat in eggs.
4Add flour mixture.
5Chill dough ?hour.
6Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
7Place on greased cookie sheet.
8Bake at 350 °F.
9For 15 minutes.
10Cool cookies on wire racks.
11Mix confectioners sugar, vanilla, and water to form a thin glaze.
12Dip cookies in glaze and place on wire rack to dry.
13Store cookies in airtight tins.
14Makes 4 dozen cookies.
