Ingredients:

| cup | Flour, unbleached, unsifted | | 1
| tbsp | Baking powder | | 1
| tbsp | Cinnamon | | 1
| tbsp | Cloves, ground | | 1/2
| tsp | Mace | | 1
| tbsp | Allspice, ground | | | Black pepper, as desired | | 1 1/4
| cup | Honey | | 2
| tbsp | Butter, (no margarine) | | 2
| | Eggs, large | | 1
| cup | Confectioners' sugar | | 1
| tbsp | Vanilla | | | Water |

Procedures:
| 1 | Sift flour, baking powder and spices together. | | 2 | Heat honey and butter until butter melts. | | 3 | Cool to lukewarm and beat in eggs. | | 4 | Add flour mixture. | | 5 | Chill dough ?hour. | | 6 | Shape dough into 1-inch balls. | | 7 | Place on greased cookie sheet. | | 8 | Bake at 350 °F. | | 9 | For 15 minutes. | | 10 | Cool cookies on wire racks. | | 11 | Mix confectioners sugar, vanilla, and water to form a thin glaze. | | 12 | Dip cookies in glaze and place on wire rack to dry. | | 13 | Store cookies in airtight tins. | | 14 | Makes 4 dozen cookies. |
