Batter crisp onion rings

Ingredients:
3 largeSweet onions, sliced ?
And
Separated into rings
1 1/2 tspBaking powder
1 cupFlour
1/2 tspSalt
1 Egg
2/3 cupWater
1/2 tbspLemon juice
1 tbspMelted butter
Oil for frying
Procedures:
1Soak the onion rings in ice water for at least ?hour.
2Pat the onion rings dry with paper towels.
3Sift together the baking powder, flour and salt.
4Combine the egg, water, and lemon juice and beat until frothy.
5Stir this into the dry ingredients just until blended.
6Add butter.
7Dip onion rings into batter, a few at a time.
8Drop into 375 °F.
9Oil.
10Fry 2 minutes on each side, turning once.
11Drain on absorbent paper.
12Keep hot in slow oven (325 °F).
13Until all are cooked.
14Don"t crowd them in the fryer.
